SENIOR PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT (CPA)
501(C)PA is growing our client base and we need more Accountants. As a SENIOR PUBLIC ACCOUNTANT at 501(C)PA you will be assigned primary responsibility for the monthly accounting work & financial statement preparation for our larger/more complex nonprofit clients. Working with MIP nonprofit accounting software in a virtual environment (training provided) you will download and import bank transactions, work with our junior accountants to ensure accuracy of coding for AR & AP, and bank reconciliations. You will also be responsible for creating adjusting entries, preparing financial statements & supporting working papers, financial analysis, advising & reviewing with clients. There will be frequent client dialogue, both written and verbal, to clarify account coding, collect information on new grants or contracts, etc.

Required Qualifications
CPA (active license) & Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or similar
Four years of progressively responsible accounting experience
Two years of review/assurance work at a CPA firm, or two years of senior accounting experience within a nonprofit organization, or a combination of these two types of experience
Excellent interpersonal verbal & written communication skills
A customer-focused service attitude
Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Highly proficient MS Excel skills including V-lookups & pivot tables
Responsibilities
Maintain excellent communications and relationships with clients and colleagues
Prepare and communicate accurate, high quality financial statements, analysis & advice to nonprofit leadership on a timely basis
Ensure supporting documents are prepared and filed according to our work standards
Assist clients with annual budget preparation & cash forecasts
Assist client auditors by providing reconciliations, internal financial reports, & mediating if needed
Comply with financial policies and regulations
Assist our Operations Supervisor, Manager of Systems Design & Integration, & our CFO as may be requested on special projects, staff training or other assignments as may be requested

Staff have been working remotely since March 2020. New staff will work on-site during orientation week. We intend to resume hybrid in-office/at-home operations when safe. New employees are required to show proof of CDC-recommended Covid-19 vaccination.
